At Trail Tracking, we value your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how it is used and stored, and what your rights are.
1. Data collected
Location data
When you use the app to track an activity or share your position, we collect your GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude, altitude, accuracy, speed, direction). This data may be sent to our server to allow:
- real-time tracking of your position,
- synchronization with your assistants or contacts,
- display of your progress on the elevation profile and map.
Identification data
We store information necessary to access your account (user ID, nickname, session token), used for secure authentication.
Local configuration data
We store preferences locally in the app (language, theme, map zoom, etc.). This data is never shared.
2. Use of data
Your data is only used to:
- display your location and route on maps,
- allow sharing of an activity with other users (such as relatives or assistants),
- ensure proper operation of the app, even offline.
No data is sold, shared with third parties, or used for commercial or advertising purposes.
3. Data retention
Location data is stored temporarily, only for the duration of a tracked activity.
Identification data is stored as long as you are actively using the app.
You can delete your account or an activity at any time from the app.
4. Security
All communications between the app and our servers are encrypted via HTTPS. Access to your personal data is restricted to services strictly necessary for the operation of the app.
5. Your rights
You have the following rights:
- Right to access, correct, and delete your personal data.
- Right to withdraw your consent at any time.
- Right to request deletion of your account and associated data.
6. Changes to the policy
This policy may be updated at any time. Any changes will be indicated on this page, along with the update date.
