Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Why is my location not updating?

Make sure the app has the necessary location permissions, especially "Always Allow" to continue tracking even when your phone is locked or in sleep mode.
Also, ensure GPS is enabled and you have a good signal.

2. Does Trail Tracking work without a network connection?

Yes, partially. The app can continue recording your route offline, and some maps are cached automatically.
However, to share your position or receive updates, a connection is required.

3. How can I invite someone to follow an activity?

From the app, open a current or past activity and tap the "Share activity" button.
You’ll get a link to send to your friends or family. They can follow your position live via the app or their browser.

4. My runner’s position doesn’t seem to update. What should I do?

This could be due to:

  • weak or unstable GPS signal,
  • lack of network connection,
  • or the app being put to sleep without the necessary permissions.
If the issue persists, restarting the app may help.

5. Which devices are supported?

Trail Tracking is compatible with:

  • iOS (iPhone, iPad) – version 14 and up
  • Android (coming soon)– version 7 and up
Smartwatch support is not available yet but is under consideration.

6. Is my data shared?

No. Your location and activity data is strictly confidential.
It is never sold or shared with third parties.
See our Privacy Policy for more information.

7. Can I test the app without creating an account?

Yes! You can access some features as a guest, such as following a runner via a shared link.
However, to create or record activities, an account is required.

8. Does the app use a lot of battery?

No. The app is optimized to minimize battery consumption, even with GPS tracking. It reduces network requests, adapts the GPS frequency, and uses intelligent background handling.
